Sewer Line Maintenance

"If your sewer line ain't happy, nobody's happy!"

Although the quote above might make you chuckle, it's as true as the day is long!  If your main sewer line is malfunctioning then your entire septic system can completely shut down.  The main sewer line is the pipe that connects every drain in your house directly to the septic system.  If the main sewer line gets clogged or damaged, then your septic system will not function properly and can cause a real nightmare inside the home.  If you suspect that your main sewer line may have developed a problem, don't hesitate to schedule an inspection before you find yourself in an emergency situation.

The best practice when it comes to avoiding problems with your main sewer line is to simply follow the recommendations for how to properly dispose of waste in your home.

What if my drains are backing up into my house?

Obviously, this is a sure sign of an urgent problem!  The best way to find immediate relief to this situation is to open the cleanout drain for your septic system.  This will cause waste to drain directly into your yard and require additional clean-up, but it's better than having it backup directly into your home.  Call a professional ASAP if you find yourself in this situation!
